To support
and advocate
for Alaskans
affected by
violent crime.
Victims for Justice is an independent non-profit working to ensure Alaskans affected by violent crime get the support they need and deserve. We help victims cope with trauma and grief, and ensure victim rights are observed within the judicial system. Victims can heal by becoming champions for their rights, advocating change in the criminal justice system.
National Crime Victims' Rights Week
In commemoration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 19-25, Victims For Justice is hosting events to raise
awareness about crime victims’ rights, and to shine a light on resources and services available statewide. This year’s
theme is List. Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities.
Book of the Month
February’s book of the month is Your Grief, Your Way: A Year of Practical Guidance and Comfort After Loss by Shelby Forsythia.
We believe this book can be a resource for anyone who may need support getting through grief. Each day, Shelby offers a short, one‑page reflection or activity—such as a poem, journaling prompt, or movement—designed to meet you where you are.
This day‑by‑day format allows you the space to get through grief in your own way, honoring that healing looks different for everyone and that there is no right or wrong timeline.
