National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 2018

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will be held April 8th -14th, 2018. During this time we will take the opportunity to highlight services in our community and honor Alaskans who are making an impact every day.

This year’s events include:

Annual Tree Ceremony: April 9th at Hostetler Park

A time to come together as a community and honor those affected by violent crime. Guests are invited to tie colored ribbons, representing ten types of violent crime on branches to represent themselves or others who have been impacted by violent crime.

Annual Awards Ceremony: April 14th 6-9pm at the Egan Center

A collaboration between survivors of violent crime and service providers in our state. At the end of the week, we take the opportunity to thank the many amazing people who have supported our community through services and advocacy. These groups include family advocates, first responders, chaplains, non-profit and government agencies, prosecutors, district attorneys, the corrections department and many more.
